PROBLEMS!!

Post by typer »

Got some sirius problems.

My engine is knocking the hell out of it self.
Just a little knock when i throttle but when i release throttle on some rpm, say 3000 rpm, THEN KNOCK come...
Any ideas?

Also i have recently got K&N Cone Air filter.
I build nice box for the air flow sensor and the filter on that box. then i Checked if the engine ran without airflowsensor. YES, ohmy.

So, why is knocking so BAAD..
Low oil? Knock sensor worn? Some metal-to-metal noise?

Some other problems aswell.

Much vibration but that is related to balance shafts removed.

But the most problem: KNOCK comeon some ideas ?

Have you already removed the balance shafts? If not then your noise will most probably be a spun balance shaft bearing..... Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the engine & have a look at the pressure, if its still ok, remove the plastic timing cover over the belts, then remove the small belt that drives the balance shaft, then run the engine & see if the noise it still there, of course it could be the shaft behind the oil pump but at least its a starting point. :beer

Ok thank you, a little drunk here but. I read here somewhere that its cause by low oil, but i haven't checkd it out. I'll check timing tomorrow.

Thanks alot man!

There was no noise after remove of balance shafts??

it only happened suddenly.

ONE other problem, i dont find Oxygen sensor on the exhaust...
I need some o2 signal for my air/fuel gauge...

do i have to put oxygen sensor on my downpipe or do the engine not run without o2 sensor?

please help :)

thanks Starion VR4 :beer

correct, starion's don't use exhaust o2 sensors, if you want to run a mixture gauge you will need to install one yourself.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.
