Help with wiring

Before I blow anything up :)..

There is a round connector with 2 wires - Black and Black/white. I believe this goes to the battery +ve but I don't have the connector for the battery end of it.. is this correct?

Battery +ve should go to this round connector and to the starter motor.

Where does the starter -ve go to? According to the crappy wiring diagram I have, it goes to some red/blue wire.. on which bit of the wiring loom is this?

Don't worry.. looks like i've got it all rooted up :).. Got some clues though!

Starter motors usually don't have a negative terminal. They get their ground through the engine block. You should have one thick lead (+ve) and one solenoid lead. Its dark now so I can't tell which colour it is.
