Indicators not flashing....

Post by SIR GSR »

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

I have noticed that my indicators don't flash (stay on) whenever the thermo fan is running, or when I have headlights on and brakes on....

Any help would be great as this is very annoying. And I don't wanna be hassled by the police due to them not working properly?

It's caused by the indicator relay becomming worn, you will find the relay in the drivers side footwell on the right side, it's the round relay among the black ones (sorry best I can do). Costs around 30 dollars to fix.

Or could be your alternator, check your battery voltage while the engine is running, should be around 13.6-14.4V.

Indicators staying on is a sign you have a voltage problem - check the alternator and battery.

Could be the flasher relay or could be loose connections. I know that if you have one of the indicators unplugged or one of the bulbs blown in the sigma's the flasher stops working and the lights just stay on. Expt for the one blown or unplugged.

Agreed. Could be a dodgy ground connection somewhere.

i had indicator problems, ended up being dead alt and flat battery. ended up driving home with no lights or anything, jus enough juice for ecu+fuel pump - got to the driveway of my house and died. not even a click when u turned the key!

and this other time at band camp..

the driving lights on my first starion came on when u hit the brakes... beat that for weird - didnt come on usually

replaced a few fuses and the battery and it went away.
