Air-Con Radiator Fan Not Working
Air-Con Radiator Fan Not Working
My air-con radiator fan doesn't kick in when the air-con is on. Anyone have any idea as to what's going on?

Later Starions had 3.
Two on the back, one on the front.Camotec wrote:You have an aircon radiator fan?? is it aftermarket??
should only be 2 thermo's on the back of the radiator shouldn't there?
The left side back and front were controlled by the aircon.

Air con fan
No, it's not aftermarket, it's the factory fan on the back (inside the engine bay) of the radiator on the passenger side... and it doesn't come on when I switch on the air-con.
Any clues? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Check list
Fan is good, so more specifically:-
- where are the fuses for this fan located (if there are fuses)?
- where are the relays for this fan located)
I've checked that box next to the battery, but has no such relay.
It's for an '84 JA... does anyone actually know or are we guessing?

hmmm
u could always not really fix the problem but rather just go around it and hook a switch up to it so when ever u put the aircon on just flick the switch and the second fan comes on... its the dodgy way tho
Override switch
StarionBoy,
I have considered that, bridging the two fans and connecting a manual switch. This would result in both fans being on. I've had this before and found that the radiator stays really cool... only this is, those fans use up a heap of power!
