starion coil?
starion coil?
This may be a dumb question but i went to repco and autoone yesterday and asked for a starion coil & no coil manufacturer had a listing for starion. They said i would have to get a genuine part from mitsubishi, is there a reason for this or can i use any 2l 4cyl turbo coil?

Rubbish,
Get yourself a Bosh GT-40 works fine and probably better than stock.
Fits axactly the same as stock one,
cant see any reason why you'd have to run a stock mitsubishi part unless you want to pay double the price for the same thing with a different name on it.

Try Moorooka Mitsubishi. I dropped in there to get an o-ring kit for the TBI about a year ago. At the counter , I got the same crap from a young fella. The older fella overheard the conversation , and butted in and said he would take care of it. He then said to me , "Good to see some of those starions still alive , you're very lucky to have one". He then let me out the back of the office and let me use the microfilm service manual and parts guide as they did not have a hard copy of it. From there I pointed out the part number , and get this , they had one in stock !!!. I can't remember his name , but was very helpful.TD05 wrote:I rang mitsubishi today and the guy asked for the VIN number because he didn't know what a starion was, that was mitsu spare parts, ahgg
