Hi
I have just rebuilt my engine in my JA. I had the head and block machined. when i put it together initially it was weeping a small amount of water under the inlet manifold. I have resealed it with some Ultra blue gasket goo. As a result of the manifold not sealing initially the oil turned a bit milky. Tonight I drained the oil (cold) and fitted a new filter. After running the car for a bit i noticed the oil was milky again.
I'm hoping its just because there was still contaminated oil in the system or water due it being a cold drain and the cart was on stands so all of it may not have come out/ factory oil cooler may have held some.... The water level in the radiator didn't seem to change overnight.
Is there anywhere else the water could be getting in? How much water does it take to contaminate the system / or how many flushes does it usually take to make it go away.
there is no blowby, it doesn't seem to be pressurising the cooling system and there is no tell tale steam out of the exhaust to suggest a blown head gasket. the car also stuarts runs and idles fine.
i have had enough, bed time for me!
Milky oil after rebuild...
