Grilles under windscreen

Post by Alspos »

Has anybody bought new clips to hold the plastic grille beneath the windscreen on? I will try Mitsubishi tomorrow in the faint hope they have them. Failing that...anyone know of any other supplier for them?

Good luck finding them, if you do I bet there's plenty of us that need them as well. I'm planning just to use sikaflex to glue them on when the repainting is finished.

Sikaflex FTW

Works well for holding down the foam style rear spoiler too

I used another method that used screws & clip thingies (that fitted the original holes); I'll take some photos over the weekend and put them up.
The screws are black and smallish, so it doesn't look that bad.

Shit, I've got the part number for those clips somewhere, and they're definitely still available as of a couple of weeks ago when I checked.

Will hunt out the number after work.

That would be great if you could Jeff.

No luck at Mitsubishi (shock horror) guy that's been there quite a while said never seen them and they don't even carry Staz catalogues anymore. Also tried rubber moulding man just in case....again nothing :(

First 2 pics are of the grille fitted showing screws at either end.

Next is the underneath side of the grille showing the mounting tabs ground off & holes drilled.

Now the little plastic screw receivers in the body work underneath the grille, I think I scrounged these from interior trim fittings that I don't use anymore.

Trims have held on through many rallys and never shown any signs of coming free.
