Off-Load Rattle

Post by iXNAY »

Hey Guys,

Got a new rattle forming when im off load so you get it on boost then off the throttle and you hear a clunk clunk clunk noise which sounds like its coming for the rear end of the car.

my thoughts are it might be the clutch packs in the LSD.

this afternoon im going to try jack the car up adn get under it to just check its not something simple that has come loose

any ideas?

regards
Ryan

I'd be checking for a worn tailshaft uni or even the rubber diff mounts, making sure they are all tight and not split etc.
Check exhaust as well, you may have broken a hanger or something and it's touching when you back off.

I just got the exhaust fixed and had a quick look at the hangers and from what I could see it looked OK

Rear rattle

Post by mizuno man »

I am experiencing the same thing at the moment.
What was the storey with yours.
For me it is loudest over every other noise when using engine speed to coast through corner usually a left hand corner. Audible when off power on h/way.

I'm thinking it could be c/v's or as Al said the d/s Uni.
