Peoples piston preference?

Post by WidebodyWoody »

Just wondering what people on here think about Wiseco or CP pistons.

I personally prefer CP pistons, but have heard Wiseco are pretty good as well. What do people on here think? Thanks.

I personally prefer Mahle Motorsport, Manley or JE's. But the stroker has Arias in it & have used Ross, CP, Probe, Speed Pro & Wiseco in the past with no issues.

It really all comes down to your engine builder/tuner and how good they are, as to how long you pistons last.

I also have a fondness for CP pistons. I have heard JE pistons and some other brands tend to make a rattle noise? Apparently as they expand ever so slightly once warm or some shit?

wasn't there something on here about piston weights? I could use the search button, but i'm feeling lazy, and it's not my time to shop for pistons.. yet

JE/CP or Wiseco - I've heard really good things about all of them. Have also used Ross in the past. I don't think you can go wrong if you stick with the big brand stuff.

While we're speaking of pistons, what's the highest CR pistons people have found for a 6 bolt 4G63?

Most companies like JE, Ross etc will custom make any piston.

I head off to Singapore in 12 hours time. When I get back in a week, I send my block off to the builder to tell me exact specs I need. Then the fun begins :)
