Evo 5-6 Brembo calipers & Starion 16" SHP rims?

Evo 5-6 Brembo calipers & Starion 16" SHP rims?
I've read the "Starion 4-spot Brake Conversion" article on the forum (Cookie's Starion)
using Wilwood calipers & 15" JB rims and 282mm diameter rotors.
Is it possible to fit Evo 5/6 Brembo calipers (and similar adapter plates) with Starion 16" x 8" SHP rims?
The front struts, with 5-stud spindles and rotors are off an '89 widebody Starion.

Widey rims do not have much if any calliper clearance for 4pots :(
You would need a rotor with a lot larger height to make it work

but won't widey 16" SHP rims have more clearance for Brembos than 15" JB rims using Wilwood calipers?
rotor with a lot larger height... If not 282mm, what diameter of rotor would you suggest?
FYI buying final parts and tools over the next 6 months for this build, starting in 01/2013...

^ ^ ^ Thanks for the feedback and excuse all the questions please. Since I already have the Evo 8 Brembos,
I would like to avoid spending unnecessary $$$ on new Wilwood calipers if possible.
Also, I'll use the rear Brembos anyhow, so selling the front Brembos seperately may be difficult.
Would spacers help to solve the problem?... (See Table below.)
Since it has less rear spacing; can the 16" x 8" ET-10 offset Starion SHP rear rims (table) clear the Brembos.
Even if possible, would the negative offset screw up the front suspension alignment or make the steering "too heavy"?... (Scrub radius etc.)

I think even the diameter of 16" is still too small to house the brembo calipers, you really need 17" minimum.

Hi Adriano, thanks for the reply and advice.
The project car is a "daily driver" and "ride quality" is important.
So coil-overs are not really a solution for clearance issues.
In addition, I would prefer to use as many parts as possible to reduce more "mix & match" issues.
I checked the Brembos with the Starion rotors and the depth of "pad engagement" seems adequate.
It's either I forget the whole thing... buy Wilwood calipers... and try to sell the front Brembos
...Or take the risk and buy a set of Starion rims first; hoping to fabricate a suitable bracket... and substitute Wilwoods if necessary.
More and more the 2nd option seems to be the only logical/economical solution.
If anyone has any ideas to help I will greatly appreciate it.

How much wider/taller (actual dimensions) are Evo 5-9 Brembo calipers compared to Wilwoods?

There may not be a clearance issue if you would be using a rotor with the same offset as a stock widebody rotor..
Don't forget.. the rotors go over the hub on the 5 bolt widey
The offset of the rotor is considerable.
The stock evo rotor is almost none, so that is why the calipers touch the wheels with some wheels.
Just measure the space between the rotor and the wheel you may find there is enough room
I'm very interested how this turns out because I also want to upgrade my brakes on my widey.
P.S. don't forget the minimum thickness of the rotors... stock evo rotors are 32 mm

The rotors are off a US widebody Starion... and being an '89 model are also 5-stud.
measure the space between the rotor and the wheel... Sorry but Starions were not sold locally.
I would have to import a set of rims from the US in order to measure them.
That's why I'm hoping to get some stock Starion caliper and (SHP 8J-16 / ET+18) "rim clearance measurements" from you guys.
Does anyone have a "widey" Starion with (SHP 8J-16 / ET+18) rims?
Could you measure the minimum clearance(s) between the rim and Starion caliper (especially near the front "spokes") and post the info please?

I'll measure OEM Evo and Starion rotors to see what the difference actually is.

Height: 67mm
Thickness New: 24mm / Minimum: 23mm
so you'd have 67 -24 = 43 mm between the disk and the wheel mating surface.
the problem is that starion wheels don't have alot of space for big calipers
if you look at this page
