revs holding up when changing gear

Post by seb »

Hi all, so i believe the problem is something to do with the stepper motor holding the revs up for a second or two, but can anyone tell me how to cure this problem please? What is it that sends the signal to the motor telling it to keep revs up? Many thanks

The stepper motor is controlled by the ECU.

I had this problem a few years ago with that style of injection. It was the switch on the end of the stepper motor plunger that tells the ecu when the motor plunger is in contact with the throttle plate. I took it all apart, gave it a really good clean, and made sure that switch was working properly. Seemed to work okay after that.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!

Put in the clutch, Rev's stay or even raise slightly, then drop to normal after 1-3 seconds!

I guess I'll try giving it a clean! Anyone able to take a picture of it so I know which devise and area to clean? :) :beer

I like the older style ECI cap units with the wax-stat idle up system, have never had any problems with these.
