JD Turbo (TC05) back studs's

Post by Bruzman »

Background:
I recently purchased a Used 3inch exhaust that was connected to a TC05. It was meant to bolt straight up to my TC06, but sadly it was the TC06 off a Cordia and had different flanges. The Cordia turbo might of explained why my boost gauge read 0.7 bar (11-12 psi) instead of JA TC06 factory 7-8 psi. I end up putting on my TC05 (which we noticed was modded with a bigger intake and compressor wheel) because it was a perfect fit to the exhaust flange..

also, car as been unrego'd for a month. doing all this to pass rego. old exhaust had massive holes.

Issues:
The hi-flow TC05 that I bolted on has 3 studs coming from the back to the dump pipe. They fit the exhaust flange, but I cannot find/use nuts on 2 of them.
The lower drivers side stud took an unknown nuts that I had. The problem being is that, that nuts doesn't fit the other two studs.
On the other 2 Nuts I have tried:
m10 1.0
m10 1.25
m10 1.5
3/8 course thread
9/11 course thread
another imperial course thread
9/11 fine thread

I have a feeling that the studs may be damaged. not the thread of the studs, but the first 5mm that has no thread. I cannot seem to get any m10 nuts over this part. It's too small for m12 nuts.

Questions:
1. What is the TC05's factory stud's or bolts?
2. Could the first 0.5mm of the stud be causing the issue? can I fix this?
3. Is there a possibility that the stud's were redone as m11? is there such studs, bolts, nuts as m11?
4. Any suggestions to fix it without driving car? (out of rego atm)

Unrelated Question
What would a TC06 off a Cordia be worth?

Thank you JD,

No-one answered for a day, so I got alittle worried!

My studs must be that size, but they have damage to the end of them. Looks like someone sanded off the thread at the end. I'll post pic's if I have too. I am gonna try and find a solution tomorrow.

Maybe it took everyone a day to read your detailed post? LOL

He just gave you solution to you on a platter... Replace your studs with the ones provided in the link. Do you know how to replace studs.
