Getting tacho to work after installing Bosch ignition module

Post by sucka »

So I ditched the 30 year old factory ignitor box in favour of the Bosch ignition module as as described here http://www.austarion.com/tech/BoschIgni ... ersion.pdf

problem is if i hook up the black/white stripe tacho wire to the coil negative as suggested in the schematic by merlin it cuts the engine. Anyone have a solution for this problem?

Cheers,

Roy

Found the problem. the tacho wire is actually all white on my JA (not the white/black as I thought) and goes through a little condensor unit before it connects to the coil negative post. All my fiddling around in thast area must have made the condensor give up the ghost and stop sending a signal to the tacho. I connected the white wire straight to the coil and now it works.

thanks for everyones help on this.
