newbie simple question need some help with a few questions
basicly i bought a 1997 starion its really sweet, but i unfotunatly dont know any thing about them, the old owner sold it to me for 500.00 because it needed a new crank well i have been having probs finding parts for it, so i am trying to find any info pointing me in the right direction for parts and or manuals such as owner manual and repair manual, as i need both.
also i found a button or what i belive to be a button to the right of the hood release on the left dashboard, marked W/INT Cancel what does it do as i havent started the engion or put the battrie in to it yet with the motor out of the car,
Also if anyone has left in the stock turbo and just added a blow off valve please let me know as if it was worth it and how it sounds. is the blow off loud, or is it worth putting in even
really thanks for any help on any of thease i know i sound stupid just never seen herd of or thought id own a starion thanks again guys

I take it you mean a 1987 Starion? I would say the best thing for you to do is to meet another starion owner in your area and have a look at a running one, you can learn alot from anyone on here as most of us have experienced the common issues associated with the car. Where abouts are you? Also searching through the previous posts might help you. The standard motor and turbo will run a bov just fine, you can also put in a boost control without modifications. Get some photos too if you can. There are manuals available for download (once again u'll need to look up previous posts for the urls) and you shouldnt have too much trouble getting parts, depending on where you are located.
Dunno about that button you found, kinda hard to tell where you mean because the hood release is on the right, and there's not much down there.
Steve.

Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

Mine has crank wear too, although mine still goes (not bad enough yet)
Cheapest option is probably just to get another motor, best option is to have your motor rebuilt - but $$$ - would mean you have an 'as new' engine though.
Im not 100% on costs of changing a crank though.

Sure it's not for something like setting the speed for the wipers when they are on intermittent.
Whack the BOV on, the noise will annoy you after a while though.
Crank problem???? Wonder how you diagnose that without pulling half the motor apart. Maybe he meant an oil leak from the crank or something like that. For your sake I hope that's the case.
