KYB Struts

Post by YellowJA »

Can anyone comment on the front KYB struts on ebay at the moment. Very cheap. Do they fit/ are they any good?

KYB GR-2 are built to be OE replacments, it's about the only replacement option for starions, last I heard tokico was unavailable, also you can't get KYB shocks for starions in Australia through dealers so US sourcing is the only option.

Front KYB shock is an insert cartridge (#365029)
You need to remove and disassemble the starion front strut drain the fluid and pull out the internals then slide in the kyb insert and screw down with the supplied top retaining nut.
Pretty simple really.
KYB used to make rear struts to suit starion as well I had the part number written down somewhere but can't find it.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

Actually, Gabriel make front & rear replacements, but the new importer is still waiting on the shipment.

They are going to send me 4 when they come in, so I can confirm fitment.

Ok,

Austral have let me down now. They informed me today, that Gabriel have dropped the starion units a month ago.

But never fear, Sachs have listing for fronts, will follow that up tomorrow.

There's been a few posts lately about D2s as a direct no-mod replacement for Starions. Very pleased to see them. :D
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?
