Can someone tell me about the automatic gearboxes that come out in the widebodies are they a full piece gearbox,or bellhousing seperate from the gearbox.

Well, I usually pull my pants down and lay a big ol lawn sausage on them when I am dumb enough to buy a auto car, but I believe the bell housing is removeable on them. God I hate those transmissions.

no i don't want to use the auto that comes out of them,i want a bellhousing,so i can somehow work out how to run a different type of auto in my car.

dave, they're a jatco 4N71B same as a VL turbo, so they're very upgradeable..

if that's the case, does this possibly open up a cheap geabox option for staz owners? vl boxes are available in the hundreds eh? or has this been tried already and failed?

they're the same model box, but the bellhousing is different, and the internals are probably different in minor details aswell.

and how many people you think want a auto starion?

i mean if the auto boxes are the same, then the manual boxes should fit too.. no?

yeah i'm just keeping everything i pull off the car incase it ever needs to be returned to stock.. under the bench or in a gigantic cardboard box :)

also, that 1988 cd stacker setup finally died LOL
