Any Ideas???

Post by 83Starion »

Hi all, went to drive my starion today, started idling like a volkswagon, then popped the bonnet, and fuel was dripping down from the cross pipe near the eci. how do I go about fixing it, getting seals or whatnot?

Cheers

Firstly unfortunately you'll have to find out exactly where it's leaking from, see if you can see which seal, etc.
Some of those seals are a bit hard to get. Even if you can take a photo, and post it up with roughly where you think it's leaking I might be able to help you work out which seals and where to get them

Cheers!

this is why i dont like JA's so much anymore. leaking eci units are the death of these cars. it will be leaking from the top o ring seals on the injectors (unlikely) or the injectors themselves (likely). what you really need is a good s/h eci unit, bolt it on wholus bolus, as once you remove the injectors from the mixer they tend to leak out the rubber seal on the sides of the injector where the wires go in. and you cant buy injectors for them any more.

i have a good eci, pm me if you want it..

Had a look and it seems to be coming out around the top where the eci letters are under those 4 main bolts, so maybe a gasket??
