That's awesome work.

Don't have a starion myself, so can't really understand the means, but I'm sure there's gains to be had considering the work being done.

great job. :beer

steering

Post by 4gpwr »

Make sure the tie rod angles of the rack dont change angles when the suspension moves up and down , they should not change wheel aliment angles as the susp moves . alot a drag cars make that mistake , looks good .

You mean "bump steer"?
All cross member and steering geometry is as standard silvia, the only thing that changes on the cross member is the mounting points to the chassis!
Obviously general alignment will be sorted before the car is driven :beer

hey silo. you may want to look into 1st gen Eclipse Tie Rod ends. They look to be about the same thread as the 240 ones but they have a longer body to them. i havent peiced them togethr myself yet but ive seen lots of them at the wrecking yards here in the states.

hey silo
what if i weld the nissan rack brackets
to the starion's cross member and
bolted the rack to that?
what are the cons in doing it this way?
doing it this way should be an easier swap?
let hear your thoughts

Problem is the lower control arm mounting points will be MUCH narrower than the coresponding rack pivot points!
This will result in insane amounts of bump-steer!
