well I bought one today, $40 off a tm-tp magna. striped it and it looks in really good nick, and very strong compared to all the others I have pulled apart. also on the plus side it looks quite easy to cut and shorten to the right length. I will try to take pics but access to a digi camera is a bit of a prob at times, will see how I go :D
I figured out the meaning of life, and since then every day just gets worse.

I still think this is an insane mod, but i do wish your the absolute best of luck, Ill fry you over and you can do it to my car aswell. How you going to go about hooking up the powersteering parts?

Magna racks are good. I can get about 3-4 of them for free off a mate.

mmmmk, done most the thinking. I think.

*ball joints - the ones on the magna rack don’t fit the starion knuckle, the starion ones are male thread, I need a female, so there no good. the ones of my gallant FC are the same as the magna ones and the tapered bolt is too big for the knuckle. I was hoping to find one to fit but it doesn’t look like it. so, does anyone know if you can get these things recond and if so can they swap bits? i.e. starion taper into magna case... the cases seem to be the same for all of them.

*tie rods / inner ball joints - all looks good in the length department.

*rack rod thingy - needs to be cut down 190mm on the right side then a slot for the locking washer cut and a female thread taped into it for the inner ball joint.

*rack case - needs to have 190mm cut of the Left and pressed back in

*mounts / uni's - sheesh, one thing at a time......

ahhh crap, one thing i forgot be4 pulling all this crap out of my car was to see how far the ball joints moved. does anyone know or can anyone go out and meassure for me? i think it is 1500mm (15cm) . but i am not sure. anyone with a widebody (damn you) needent bother, its diferent i think..
anyway, the measurement i need it the distance that all the steering crap moves from lock to lock. i supose if you turned your wheels lock-right and stuck a marker in the ground right under the center of the ball joint, then turn the wheels lock-left and did the same, meassure the distance. that would work, dosent have to be spot on, but within 5mm +/- is OK. cheers all.
