U have to much time on yr hands :wtf: Or to much money in which case U should give some to me!!! :o
Looks bloody fantastic, obversely its a track car, love yr struts, anymore pics? who did them? What shocks are i there? The only drama I can see is yr DUMP PIPE might hit on the steering shaft to the rack, In which case U can probably use a uni joint to move it closer to the chassis rail.

Struts are kei office for an fc3s rx7 witch bolt up to the rx7 hubs and brakes, Cross member is half starion half s13 silvia, Control arms are adjustable s13 silvia, Castor rods are custom s13 silvia, Rack is s13 silvia, Column is starion+VR4+s13 silvia :wtf:

More pics when the recon rack goes in :beer

Sump clearance is spot-on with the starion sump, no mods needed!

d'you reckon it'll have as good a turning circle as a stock staz?

also, what's so bad about the recirculating ball "crap"? I'd think that that old system is the reason the staz has an crazy turning circle?

vague on centre feeling and accumulated slop in all the many steering joints is the main problem. motoring writers complained about the steering box spoiling the car when they were new. i agree! boxes are SHIT!

all u need for good steering lock with a rack is to use one with good travel. they vary quite a bit. remember we dont have cv's to worry about like front wheel drives so u can get just as much if not more lock from a starion with a steering box if u design it correctly

I've got a 240SX rack in my Starion now but with S14 hubs and coilovers. Its amazing. No worries with the turning circle.

One thing is for sure. Silas has gotten the steering column and engine mounts figured out. I am seriously considering pulling my setup out and redoing it his way.

The above pics are with the new(secondhand) s14 rack! The rack ends are wound out nearly to the max so i will be needing custom rack ends of some sort!

The rx7 disks and calipers are also being ditched for some evo 6 brembo's!

I have included a picture of the old starion sway-bar above the s13 sway-bar that will be replacing it! The new sway-bar fits into the original location and mounts using new 25mm bushes instead of the old 21mm bushes. as you can see the new sway-bar is a bit beefier and will provide a bit more stability!

The Castor arms are also finished!

As an edit to my previous statement that the sump will clear, i remembered that i am using a VR4 sump not the starion one!

The starion sump will actually clear the top of the x-member and rack better than the vr4 one, but will foul the front of the x-member! this can be avoided by spacing the silvia part of the x-member down about 10mm before welding! see pic

I have been asked by several people what the cost is associated with this project!

well,
Cross member- $20 (get sway bar if possible)
Rack and tie rods- $100
Lower control arms- $520
Coil-overs- $500
Strut tops- $300
Castor rods-$200
Hubs and brakes- $500 (new bearings obviously)

Sooo around $2140 and im not done yet !

Remember that this price can be lowered using s14/15 hubs, brakes, control arms etc, so it varies heaps!
