TD05-16g onto stock manifold? ARP studs Q

Has anyone done the swap onto their stock manifold? I know the stock exit hole needs enlarging and a dump pipe, oil lines/ water lines remaking..

Cant for the life of me find anyone who has done it to their starion..
For my new engine I'm thinking of buying a GT pumps td05 big 16g...

whats the spool time like? and is it enough to push 200rwkw easily?

I"m aware that the 4g54 ARP head studs fit the 63 sohc with a 10mm spacers.. what about vr4 or evo3 crank cap studs to starion?

I've got a 16g on mine and i would recommend it. it hits full boost around 3500rpm. Mines making 155kw @17psi on a rich boost so should be possible to make 200rwk with the right cam and a good tune

Make sure you get an EVO exhaust housing, and not a VR4 one. The VR4 ones don't have all the bolt holes exposed from memory. With the EVO ones you can drill out all four bolt holes on the exhaust housing to allow it to slip over the original studs. Might need to do a little grinding to make clearance for the nuts too.

Can get new exhaust housings from Kamak/Kinugawa. I bought one, was actually quite impressed with the quality.

With EVO3 turbo spool and response is awesome it transforms the car. With MPI and 160wkW my car would light up the rears in second coming on boost.

mrb1: im considering the enhanced td06 with the 20g wheel, 2nd down on your site... what will the response be with that one?
also can you do a special austarion member price?

I'm a mechanic by trade, currently waiting on bits to build the bottom end.

Wiseco pistons and manley rods, 8.3:1 comp, 8v starion head, stock valves, 3 inch exhaust, cam will have a aftermarket grind, unsure to what spec yet, valve springs, sonata mpi manifold, 600cc injectors or therabouts, bigger throttle body, fmic, minor clean up of head ports etc, haltech ps1000. so fairly stock but im wanting reliability and good power for a daily driver. would like it to be tuned for about 200rwkw at 20psi and have it toned down to 10 psi for daily use.

I would probibly stick to the td05 as it has such good spool, the td06 20g will probably be pretty laggy! Maybe a td05 18 or 20g may be a better in between

that car mentioned running a ported stock manifold...... so probably a stock turbine housing machined out for a td06 wheel, especially since boost creep issues experienced, as is characteristic.
Porting the wastegate entry helps, or play hard like this guy, and go divorced dump on the oe setup, to totally eliminate creep

evoIII 16 is a great all around turbo.
A 20g wrung out to 28-30psi really show its claws and sharp teeth

I think the twin cam head bolts are too short
