Me again! After removing the engine from the starion I was wondering if it was worth while changing or upgrading the clutch. I've had a look at the clutch that's in it just now and there's Plenty of life left on it. I thought if am upping the power will the standard clutch be ok or an upgrade will be recommended.

Cheers,

Depends on what flywheel you'll be using.

But definitely upgrade to a stronger clutch.. the standard clutch can't handle much more then stock power.

I use a ACT 2600 pressure plate for a eclipse turbo/evo 1-3 and a stock starion 225mm clutch plate.
and use a Eclipse fwd flywheel (same as evo with slightly larger starter ring)

But that is because I use an adapter plate to bolt the starion box to a evo engine. (not the best solution I might add)

Landed lucky! Picked up a lightened and balanced flywheel and a uprated cosworth 4 paddle clutch rated to 450bhp!
Now to source acl big end race bearings and some Wisco pistons!
Getting there slowly but surely!
