Hey guys,
Does the cas unit definitely hit the firewall?
Can the engine go in and out from the top with hoist?

99.9% It will so you have 3 choices
1 massage the firewall as per Avandulls method .
2 move motor forward app 15 mm like my JB
3 delete rear CAS and install a front trigger wheel as per Kiggly mod
I've had mine since 03 07 92
85 JB 2323cc DOHC 4G63

Iirc there are 3 different types of cas. I think the evo ones have a black plastic cover whereas the vr4 and galant ones have a green metal one. Just out of interest what gearbox are you going to use, as the starion one wont fit an evo engine?

Build the evo engine into and onto the starion block?

It will fit if you use a 6 bolt wide block but not a narrow block. You need an adaptor plate.

Personally I would swap the evo internals and externals to the starion block. New rings and bearings whilst your at it. That way you'll have a nice new bullet proof motor :)

From the first post, the engine is already done and dusted.

here is an option I think will work easier (as I am not an engineer or mechanic for rebuilding my own engine into a evo spec one)
*Sigma 2 ltre turbo gear box
*Evo flywheel
*Evo pressure plate
*Sigma clutch
*Spiggy bearing into the evo flywheel. (as they don't already have one)
*slave unit for hydraulic clutch
*rear housing swap from my old starion box to bring the shifter back

FYI, a workmate of mine has a factory sigma/galant RWD turbo and the gearbox on it is a wideblock.
