Where can i get a top mount turbo manifold for the twin cam head, The VR4 one is a low mount type

You may have to go custom steampipe as I have done

as oldy said, custom champ, at least then you can make it to suit the lack of space and your turbo

you can buy a $150 stainless off ebay, cut the pipes off as close to the plate as possible, then flip it and re weld it. Works like a charm.

Got a link for that SK? I imagine it's chromed & would need rechromibg after welding. Has yours stood the test of time? Did it require extra bracing?

Here's my VR4 Top mount exhaust manifold - it was a custom job.

Works nicely, but if I had to make another, I'd design for a little more space between the dump pipe and the clutch master.

I dont have anypics on me. Just search it on ebay, you WILL find the one im talking about. It was off the shelf from someone who imports them in sydney, came in 3 days.

Bracing? You mean to take the weight off the turbo?

I remember reading ages ago that someone bought an eBay manifold and it cracked between the tubing and the mounting plate. The turbo weight would add it's own stresses to the manifold plus the heat cycles...so yes, something el cheapo bought from eBay that stands the test of time is worth knowing about.

ive bought 2 aftermarket stainless manifolds from trademe and they have both cracked. got a custom one made up and it is noticeably thicker and heavier than the cheap ones. should hopefully last the distance

they always crack around the flange. without fail. some people say its just the weight of the turbo, others reckon its caused by an insufficiently secured exhaust acting like a 2 meter lever on the back of it

ive also heard that its just thermal fatigue. apparently stainless just really isnt the right material for exhausts
