Twin Cam Conversion section

Well it seems from my experience supplying thermostat adaptors that there are at least 20 TC conversion either on the go atm or about to happen plus some that are nearly complete.

As those of us who have/are going down this road know, there is a fair bit of work involved in modding and adapting parts to suit.

So far there is snippets of info available but it is mostly pm'd amongst those of us doing it and asking specific questions

It might be useful to have a separate section catering to the specific needs of the conversion and build a data base of info therein.

Just a thought.

Cheers
Greg

I agree. That way they don't get lost in the mist of all other tech talks.

Yes please, I was searching the forums last night for conversion information (to try and find out whether I had to have a turbo head or could use a N/A one) and the information wasn't exactly easily located (didn't find the answer).

If you do this, we need as many pics as possible. It should also to be broken up into different engine groups.

1. Starion block/VR4 style head.
Gearbox Options: B2600 bellhousing and box/Starion box/ Dellow wide bellhousing and W58 box.

2.Starion Block/Evo/RVR/Hyundai head.
Gearbox Options: B2600 bellhousing and box/Starion box/ Dellow wide bellhousing and W58 box.

3. VR4 Complete Engine
Gearbox Options:
Starion box or B2600 setup with adaptor plate/ Dellow narrow bellhousing and W58 box.

4. Evo 1-3/RVR Complete Engine
Gearbox Options:
Starion box or B2600 setup with adaptor plate/ Dellow narrow bellhousing and W58 box.

I know Bill on Project0g makes a adaptor, but it is the same as the dellow narrow item, and really it's not a cheap item by the time you get it over here.

I am aware that there is more combinations, but it more or less starts with the choice of a wide/narrow block and cylinder head. Next step is either front or rear themostat routings, and then what power steering and pulley system you run.

i'm just about ready to do the thread explaining the starion block/twincam head build, a new forum for all the dohc swappers would be good, have a thread for each of the ways to do it.

For a newbie there are too many questions to ask when contemplating the whole process to begin with, making a new section is going to make it alot easier. It will cut down the amount of questions the veterans have to field aswell.
