Yeah, we did a custom job on the rear so the thermostat and housing is still there. I have heard about drilling holes in head gaskets...but i cant see where?

We all knew that..........
Computer games don't affect kids I mean if PacMan affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music :D

If I was to use a vr4 cometic gasket on a sohc, what size gasket would
I use? Bearing in mind that the standard sohc gasket has a hole of about
87mm.

Ahhh, SOHC Bores are 85mm, VR4 R 85mm, 4G64 R 86.5mm. use a VR4 on a 2L is perfect. :beer

Yes I realize that the sohc bore is 85mm. But the head gasket is about
87mm in order to account for the unusual shape combustion chamber.
So I know that I need a cometic gasket with a 87mm hole. What I dont
know is which gasket comes with a hole that size. One to suit an 85mm
bore or perhaps a 86mm bore?

I used 86mm x 1.4mm but go by the bore size matey then check it over the head.
You can use the starion crank if u like, or use the 2.4 with the rods and stroker pistons. JE make the pistons.
