See how much power i can get out of it till it pops!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, that's agreed Greg. But better than that, you don't need to fix it if you don't go breaking it! Be nice to your car...

motec plus twin cam with race gasket and studs = however much boost you want. limiting factor is whether you drive like spastic and tuner was born with arms

On my EVO6 TME I run 1.5 bar all the time no problem with stock bottom end. I have also run 1.8 bar (for 3 laps until I noticed it) at Oran Park when my boost controller lost the plot, however this is pushing your luck :D
I know the VR4 pistons are not as strong as the later cars. Depends what you are doing I guess.

but you have to remember that 20psi from a td05 is going to be different to 20psi from a gt35R! so you cant really compare them...

would ambient temperature also make a difference to the max PSI you can run without seeing knock?

shit yes thrash.

so then someone in nz might easily be able to run 22psi through their motor without any problems, while someone in queensland with the same exact turbo may start to see problems above 18psi.. right?

same thing during winter/summer.. we should be able to run more boost in winter than in summer..

Sounds like you're using it again Glen. That's a good sign!
