Hi guys, just got home from Bathurst ending a fantastic week of fun & motorsport. Decided to take the JB for a run this time & amazed at just how enjoyable these cars can be on a long distance trip. Travelled a total of 2,480km without so much as lifting the bonnet. Not a single issue on the entire trip, except for the availability of 98 octane fuel in central NSW. Fuel economy was better than expected, averaging 10.8L/100km for the trip, but 95% was highway cycle. I fitted a cruise control before the trip which may have helped a little.
Having always owned large vehicles, packing a small coupe for a camping trip proved challenging with space at a premium, however all the gear fitted nicely.
Didn't see another Starion on the entire trip, but did get a lot of nice comments from people about the my JB. It was reassurring that so many people at the race actually recognised the car as a Starion & recalled the days when they were on track racing in the 80's.
