OLDIE GOES TO LEYBURN 2010

Post by OLD FART »

Have just recieved my invitation to compete in this years event :D
I am in a hot 10 car field along with a Cosworth Escort , a WRX, 2 Evo 9's and an Alfa 147 and a very fast Commodore. Haven't set my sights too high so a finish in the top 5 will be a good result
The roads that make up the track have been completely resurfaced with hot mix so that's a huge improvment over the old bitumen spray and chuck a bit of stone over it method so now the new injectors are in and the car is running smoothly I am looking forward to a good trouble free weekend's motorsport
I've had mine since 03 07 92

Go get 'em Rad, I'm sure you & your beastie will put some of those whipper snippers to shame.
I got myself one of these jiggers http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MINI-BULLET-CAME ... 483baaf8bc
I got mine from an Aussie supplier, & about $50 cheaper, a couple of months ago.
Haven't used it in car yet but seems to be very high quality video.
Good luck mate.

Great event and crowds I managed to improve from a 1.03 sighting lap to a couple of 58.9s Had a battle with the FJ 2O powered Bluebird of Len Falknau Unsure who came out on top but we are having a rematch at Pittsworth in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately the rwd & 4wd cars were thrown into the same class so we were beaten by 2 Evo 9s and 1 WRX but I think the fast and well driven Escort Cosworth Sierra the one with the whale tail spoiler on the hatch may have given them a hurry up
The JB was perfect but the driver had a couple of offs fortunately no damage as the track that was specially resurfaced with hotmix at the cost of $100,000 is only 1 lane wide in places so it paid to be neat but a a rush of blood to the head plus boost caused the back to step out a bit further than I wantedon a couple of runs    and on what was to be my best lap I dislodged the last chicane witches hat 40 metres from the finish and that added 5 seconds to the time. bugger :x
I must thank Lee Thomas for all the effort that he has put into my car as it was running just perfectly and never missed a beat all weekend and started first time hot or cold when there was 1/4 inch of ice on the bonnet .
Lee is a good bloke who is always under preasure but has made time to build and tune my JB and restore my faith in human nature after loseing my 3k old single cam motor due to faulty dynotuneing by others

Well done Rad, I can just picture you all smiles as you typed that last post. I guess that Lee Thomas will get every Staz in Queensland to tune from now on. :)
