Hungaroring trackday and Starionclub meeting, 24th May 2010

Post by Krorz »

We decided that it's time to test some of our cars at a track and have a small Starionclub meeting so we went to the 2nd Hungaroring trackday.
Sadly my car is not regged right now so I couldn't use it yesterday.

Only two members tried their cars at the track. Both cars had some problems and neither driver had previous experience on Hungaroring so they were not the fastest out there but it was great fun!

Hi Korz it's good to get track time where you can strech the Starions long legs and not have to worry about oncoming traffic ,radar traps, speed cameras ,etc
I am going to Carnel Raceway , app 200k's away for a 2 day event this weekend as I need to wear out some tyres and enjoy my twin cam Staz without having to worry about Police etc
I've had mine since 03 07 92

It was a great experience and probably safer than the 150k trip to the track and back. Our roads are sh*t and filled with idiots...

Sounds good. Good luck with that.

Thanks! This trackday was a big morale booster, everyone started to work harder to make sure that the next event will be even better with more Starions on the track.

Good work nice to see starions out on the track. Its interesting that you dont have to wear helmets on the track though.
Starions are a disease, the only cure is poverty.

Yeah, we thought we'll have to but it seems that you only have to wear helmets at competitive events like autocross events, drag races and mini-rallys.

I wonder how much it would be to hire out the track for starions for the day. Maybe if we get enough people, we can split the costs? Pay before the day, that way if you end up not being able to make it, everyone else doesn't get stuck with the cost.

$6000 last time I heard for QR/LP.

Best just to all turn up to a regular Sat or Sunday arvo sprint session.

p.s. Helmets not available in Hungary?

They are not mandatory on a trackday however next time we'll probably use helmets but first we have to get better ones.
