S.A. Autocross Championships - May 2nd

Post by panda »

The Southern Districts Car Club are hosting the SA Autocross Championships at Lanac Park on Munetta Road at Mount Compass on Saturday May 2nd.
I am making the 1000km round trip & have entered the trusty Starion for a skid, but welcome anybody to come and visit (or have a go) Love to meet some Adelaide forum members.

Just got home from the SA Autocross Champs in Adelaide, finished 4th in class, & 23rd outright out of 40 starters. I'm happy with that. When I get too old & slow & come last, its time to hang up the helmet, but not yet. Got beaten by WRX's & Evos, what chance have I got, but still had heaps of fun which is more important than results. :D :D :D

Good stuff Peter; and we'll never be too old to go racing.
At Targa there was a 90 year old navigating, and plenty of "experienced" teams competing, in the full rally.

Looks like us old folk like doing it in the dirt
Seems like you need a heavy front bar to stop it putting too much load on the outside front tyre :D :beer

What size, where from, how much, more info please :?

Oh I should add that I had 30psi in the front tyres, & constantly peeled the tyres off the rim. :(

Nice work panda, when you say you have 30psi in the front tyres, is that hot or cold pressure?

I've always aimed for 36 psi hot so you could give that a try, i start at 32psi cold and go from there for the short sprints.

I was hoping that it wouldn't fit in your hand luggage, but hey, I'll keep looking. Enjoy the game .
