Sandown Sprints This Sunday 13th July

Post by JJH »

I'm taking the JA out again this Sunday for a bit of "me time"; so if anyone's in the area feel free to drop by and say hello.

Forecast looks promising, although I'd like a bit of wet weather practise.
In the good old days I used to luv racing in the rain; it's about the only time you could get a Vee sideways and not lose too much time.

another event that might be worth a look is gippslands new Haunted Hills hillclimb .
they ran a club event last sunday which was the first at the new venue.
there is some footage on youtube

I think most events there will be multi club from now on and I'm keen on having a run
not sure if you are Jeff but I'll see what date are coming up

Great to catch up with Al, Frank, Cheater and nice to meet 4g for the first time.
Al, your kids are great; they're the most enthusiastic fans I have, even high fives when I got back in the paddock rofl
Full of beans though, I bet there aren't too many quiet times at home

It is so good to get out and have a good, hard, fang every now a then. After lots of experimentation in the
first couple of sessions, I settled down in the last and posted my best time so far which turned out to be 2 secs faster than I'd done before.

So, 1:36 something for now and I know there's a lot more in both the car and me.

Cheater, I hear that Haunted Hills is quite a challenge and I will keep an eye out for upcoming events there.
I've submitted an entry into the 3 Valleys Rally, which is on the Cup day weekend, and it has a sub-event there. So a run before that event might be useful.

I ended up on the last flag point and it was good to see some of the lines people use - and most not the best
got cold out there when the sun went in

you looked to be hitting the apexs at the last 2 corners a lot better in your last run where earlier you seemed to bit get to second last corner a bit wide
making the last a bit tight
but the car did look quite settled through there and more so in the last run

4gpwr,
We are very keen to take up your very kind offer, all we need to do is organise a time that fits in with all the other rubbish that stops us playing around with our toys.
From memory, my off-sider said he had your business card; if that's correct, we'll give you a call once we have a better idea of when we can fit it in otherwise I'll send you a PM.
