Considering the price of petrol these days, it would probably be cheaper to get a few people together and hire a car transporter.

Then maybe we should forget all about a national cruise until fuel costs 10c a litre? And just stick with State cruises

Petrol is cheaper here in QLD!!! we have more car & supply accomidation for any interstate travllers, The police have been more understanding here and GR8 weather as, for premium fuel price... well it's not every year we have a national meet more like every 3 years so saving for the event sould B easier .... going to queensland is a huge trip but id still do it, its more a one off, and if there is free accomedation avaliable that would be great, i would have about a 16-18 hour drive for me to get there.

and yes fuel is expensive but its called annual leave from work :)
use that 17% loading ;-) hahaha

but either way if my staz was running and i have the money i will definitally go.

Bathurst, sounds good to me, it's a fair drive for everybody.
Sorry WA... It's not fair for you... but we all can't meet in Alice Springs.
OR... maybe we can! NT has no speed limits!
NO... just dreaming.

Bathurst would be great if we could get the track for the weekend.

Or maybe Gold Coast, because it is closer to the NSW border. Or even Coffs Harbour or Byron Bay.

typical all the QLD people suggest QLD. while people from other states are trying to suggest more centural locations...

its like 1400km from adelaide to sydney, well over 2000 to brissie.

you lot are dreaming if you think us people who basically live at work can take a full week off only to have 1 or 2 days of actual fun involved the rest driving? hell naw!!

it'd suck to have to drive around qld/brissie in a turbo car, compared to say melbourne where we may have shit weather, but im not complaining when we're getting low intake temperatures 15-20 degrees
oh and then you get teh really cold night times... mmm
