QR has timed sprint days . One Wednesday and one or two Saturdays per month . That's what I do (amongst other things).

It only costs $75 to race (against the clock with other cars on the track) for a whole afternoon.
You usually get a good amount of laps and it's the BEST place to learn how to drive fast and is pretty safe.

All you need is a Helmet and long clothes. If you don't have a CAMS licence , you can buy a QR licence on the day that will last you for a year .

Ok , no excuses now.
Went to the last Saturday one, it was great.

I watched a new Gemballa "GT600" take several laps to pass a Datsun 1600. The best thing I've seen in ages.........:)

if u hire the place out u can use your own cars. i went there back when it was the mercedes driver training centre back in about 97 or 98, in my twin webbered gemini sedan. had an absolute ball drifting on the track and around the skidpan!

the track is the absolute PERFECT size for drift, not sure they`d like u doin it there now tho! 98 metre diameter skidpan dished and with proper irrigators, i was on there for about 2 hours straight, by the end i was doin 5 laps completely sideways bouncing off the lock stops without spinning!

also guys i know its a long way for most of u, but i go to regular motorkhana days at gympie's roadcraft skidpan, costs $25 and they do 10 different motorkhana courses in a day, with trophies for the winners of each class. maybe u could justify the extra fuel money on the cheap cost of entering the event itself! next one is on august 20.
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

Yeah we should do it. We should do one soon. My car will be off the road for a little while in a couple weeks. Plus we need some time to organise cars.
