The website for the event says gates open for display cars at 7:30. I assume you've been there before, the late start is to avoid sitting in a mile long queue of cars?

In the previous 3 years we've been, haven't had any problems with having queue to get in, as we are coming in from the opposite side to most of the traffic which enters via the Calder Fwy side.

From the meeting point it's about 10mins to Hanging Rock.

who's definitely attending?

Please confirm:

Enthuzed
Bluesystem (1or 2 cars?)
JDSTAZ45
Alspos
Panda

+ Sigma-Galant Forum
Bad-Sig
Shelby GTO ???

Looks like we're going to have a great turn out!!!

Cheers,

Andrew

Great work Andy for coordinating all this. Yes, my partner & I will be arriving late Saturday afternoon, and to dress up the display, I will be bringing some Mitsubishi banners & flags again that my local Mitsy dealer has kindly loaned to me.
See ya all next Sunday.

IMPORTANT INFO:

Hi guys! I was also going to be coming to this BUT - it seems it's been postponed, and is NOT on this Sunday...

FULL info at:

http://www.picnicathangingrock.com.au

Here's exactly what they say on the website:
Hanging Rock Car Club Picnic postponed
The 27th annual Macedon Ranges Car Club Picnic scheduled for Hanging Rock this Sunday - 9th Feb 2014 has been postponed.

The Club and Council in consultation with regional emergency services and authorities have made the decision based on the extreme weather conditions currently forecast for Sunday with potential extreme fire danger, strong winds and storms.

Whilst the decision was made reluctantly public safety was the prime consideration with the very real risk of fire impacting on the 10,000 plus crowd. The strong winds also had the potential to cause serious injury especially as the nature of the event is to picnic at your car under the trees.

Hanging Rock will also be closed on Sunday in the interests of public safety.

The club will work with Council to attempt to reschedule the event over the next month or so.

Sorry Guys,

The Hanging Rock Car show has been postponed until next month by the looks of it.

Once it's been rescheduled we'll post the new date.

Catch up soon.

Cheers,

Hitchy

Public safety must come first, plus I would hate to see some beautiful cars get damaged in those extreme weather conditions. Being postponed now gives those who weren't ready in time to get their act together & make a show.
Once the new date is known, I certainly hope I can be there, but my calendar is pretty full over the month or so. Fingers crossed.
Cheers all.

Good call by the organisers, bummer for all those that were ready to go.
On the up side, if it happens in mid/late March I should be ready to go :)

Just watching TV at the moment, major fires burning out of control just 20km from where the show would have been held. Calder Highway has been closed to all traffic, so getting out of the show area would have been impossible. Hitchy, hope you and your family are safe.
Big congratulations to the event organisers for their decision to postpone the event.

Romsey is one of the affected areas, so I got in touch with Hitchy on Monday. He is staying with his family in Sunbury, don't know how long for...
