Speedaware Twilight Rallysprint

I took one of my Starion's out for a squirt in the January rallysprint. Pretty damn good fun. They utilise the pit area, strip and carpark access roads at the Kwinana Motorplex Circuit. 3.5km circuit, 4 runs, cars start at 30 second intervals. They started in November and capped it at 50 entries, then 60 in December and 70 in January. It's capacity each time. Next event is late Feb and I'll take the Red JA out for another run. It had been sitting in my brothers workshop down the back gathering dust and after going to have a look at the December event it just looked like way too much fun not to have a go. The Red JA had been sitting for six months waiting for us to find time to do some more work on it's conversion to gravel spec. Plan is to run it in the "Classic Alpine Rally" in VIC in November this year. Anyway we had a great time, the Dunlop "R" spec tyres certainly had turned "Rock Hard" over the past year and the lack of grip made it more of a drift session with two big loses, but it does good second gear donuts. Can't wait for the next one now.
