Thinking about it. :)

Was hoping to run last Wednesday, but when does anything ever go to plan?

I have to apologise for not making it along. At 7.45am my wife informed me I was not going! :glare: as the kids need to be looked after - she and the kids are sick (shit, I feel like crap but was still going to make it come hell or high water)

I am so pissed at the moment I think I am going to sell my EVO and forget the whole fu....g race thing. I have a 'passion' for motorsport and my wife can not stand me racing. I try and do as much as I can with the family but still have issues with going to the track! I am pissed!!!

I had changed the engine oil, fitted the harness, bought a new helmet, had a ubeaute bottle of octane booster and was going to buy a pair of mechanics gloves on the way out this morning. Not to mention a second loss of entry fees in a month. Shit, I even had my dad coming out to time my runs. Not Happy Jan!!

yeah, unfortunately life is never easy. My wife is great I just wish she didn't sress so much over me racing. If she knew the half of what I have done in my cars over the past 20 years I would be hog tied.
I am the boss - when she is away and the kids let me :)
My plan of attack will be to compromise on doing 'motorkarna' events which as far as she knows will be driving around cones in a woolies carpark. I will sneak a hill climb in and do a Gatton , pitsworth etc sprint and play down the speed of them.

maybe its the evo.. tony used to tell tomoko that he was going on "business trips" LOL

he only just got away with it when he ran over those tyres at gatton a coupla years ago though, scuff marks on the front etc..

imo you need to show her some statistics that show it is more dangerous to drive on the open road than on a race track. i know what happened to greg was a freak thing, she obviously doesnt see that. but people are scared of going in airplanes and they're WAY safer than driving on the road.....

Yes I know what you are saying and we have coverede that a few times. Having said that I think she now realises how important Saturday was to me and Ihave been given the go ahead to do Time Attack next Friday morning :D . I have a special oil for the gearbox to trial and having an extra week to get sorted I will feel a bit better and arrange things without stress.
Dave, I open the garage up each afternoon when I arrive home, look at the Staz and wish I had the energy to just get stuck into it and have it ready for you now. I am definately doing work on it this Saturday and might see if I can call in a few helpers to finish off a few of the 'little' jobs on it that I keep putting off.

Timeattack on friday was great with a 59sec lap before tyre delaminated. I hope to get back out soon as I think with a bit more practise a 58 is achievable.
P.S. Give us full details on this:Image
