IF ONLY IT WAS LEGAL!

I am talking about SPEEDING! :D Not the drug, as in going over the speed limit (on the roads)
NOTE: I don’t intend this to become competitive, I am just interested in what people have done.
First i am NOT a cop, 2nd I know there might be cops on this site but I don’t care, first they have to catch you and have proof that you did it, and second we can say it was just a lie to try and impress everyone.
Ok,I have yet to take my Starion on a late night freeway run, but near my house I have a nice bit of wide road (I'll have to check how long it is some time), it is also a 40km/h school zone. I try and see how fast I can go before I have to break and turn to go toward my house. I usually hit the top of 3rd (about 155ish km/h in my car) before I chicken out and start braking. I have got up just above 165km/h a couple of time.
That’s just a tic more then 4 times the legal limit
So what have you people done?

Yeah well I raced my dad along the highway once on the gold coast and well I got up past my dial range which is 180km/h and I don't know what I did but it was still pulling and I was still holding with him. His is a VX GTS that has had mods done to it. very fast car. Anyways, All I know is my top speed was over 180 at the point in time.

I've clocked 220 but that was scary as fuk and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.......its *ok* if you did it on an airplane runway or something similiar where you can see others around you, 'cause you risk having to brake hard from 200+ down to avoid any cars coming out from any side streets into your way if done anywhere else.......

the quickest ive driven a car is just over 190km/h.
go the mighty Hyundai Accent (mums car)
it pretty much was smooth, didnt jump round at all, just ran out of road quick, stoped real well to.
BUT that was a brand new car, not a 23 year old Starion.
bit of a diffrence.

My best in the staz is a bit over 170, it was racing a gt4 celica on the high way back from the gold coast last weekend. I dont know how much over 170 it was cuz with my fucked suspension i was just trying to keep the car in a straight line and not concentrating on the speedo.

I have done 240kmh on a pukekohe racetrack, hope to be there in another week or so with more power so see if i can use 5th gear this time haha.
Also done around that speed on the road while wasting a series5 RX7 quite a few years ago
But wouldnt recommend that fast on the road, especially NZ goat tracks haha

oh yaeh i checked how long my bit of road is, form were i turn in, to my street is a bit less then 600m(dont know how accurate mt odomitor is).
so i got 600m to get from 0 to 168ish(beat my best last night) and back to 0.

It's a Hyundai accent, any decently kept starion would be a better choice, better aerodynamics, better braking, handling...
The Hyundai has crumple zones and airbags tho, they help.. :)

180Km/h - Nissan Cefiro

BUT I was being 'safe' about it.

4 lane motorway with central barrier and a huge saftey lane on the left as well, no upcoming ramps, straight, perfect visbility, early morning with absolutey not a single other car on the road in either direction.

Generally on the road I dont exceed 120, and try to keep it at 100-110 to avoid tickets. Even in the Starion I do 50K-55K around town. Often 40K because this area seems mostly filled with old people.

Only time I speed with other vehicles around, is when passing traffic. I put my foot to the floor, but let go just as I pass the other car. In the Starion thats normally 120-130 and coast back down.
