Got up to 5 degrees today here ...bikini weather. Could see the snow on the mountain. I'll send you photos if you like. Makes a nice change to the beautiful sunny weather we have in summer. :p

That's a pic from about a block away from our place. You can just see the foothills of Mt Wellington. It snowed down to around 300 meters we think last night. Was freezing today. We're about to go up the mountain.....more pics on our return
And the starions do love it in the cold....just not the ice. Ice gets a bit.....interesting.

15 mins after leaving the house (which is 10mins from city center) we were here, 800 meters above sea level where they closed the road due to snow and ice. Snow had settled to 500 meters (according to the altometer in the car) but had probably been falling lower.
This is the bustling metropolis of Hobart from the mountain. The haze you can see is not smog, it's falling snow and rain.
The ice comment relates to the last time avandull took the starion up the mountain. On the way down he was using engine braking to keep it under control, but it dropped to idle and the back decided it wanted to have a go at being in front for a change. A touch of accelerator sorted it out though so all was well.
So who's complaining of cold? :saywha
