Yeah... I only run my TT Legacy wagon on 98 octaine. Lucky (well better then nothing) we get 4-10c a litre off due to supermarket dockets.
Rude thing is this: Petrol station buys petrol, a week later the price of gas goes up, that very second they put their prices up, however the petrol sitting in their tanks they bought at the cheaper price!!!!!!!!!!!
Other thing that happens in NZ: Petrol goes up $10 a barrel, pump prices go up 10c a liter. Petrol goes down 10 a barrel, pump prices goes down 3c a litre, 5c if your lucky!

perhaps it's time to switch to lpg.. bring on 18:1 compression ratios!!

Might as well get an EA falcon to run it on! rofl
(Maybe it's just a NZ thing but there were heaps of them with LPG conversions)

yeah probably 60% of the falcons here are converted to run dual fuel.. don't quote me on that, it's just a guess.
but.. how bout an lpg car with, say, 14:1 comp ratio and 14 psi boost? LPG, depending on the source, can be between 105 and 110 octane..
I believe the main problem with lpg to fuel a performance vehicle is that since it is delivered into the combustion chamber in gaseous form, volumetric efficiency at high rpm is much lower than petrol in liquid mist form. i.e. bring on the high cube, not so high revving, cross plane v8s and bang a couple of turbos on em :D

Is there anyway of converting LPG to a liquid? Perhaps running it through a condensor or past the aircon?
Sure it would "burn" better in a liquid form?
I never liked LPG, always had these visions of being in a crash and the bottle blowing up LOL

Isn't it Liquified Petroleum Gas? It all comes back to temperature and pressure where it changes state anyway....FST4RD wrote:Is there anyway of converting LPG to a liquid? Perhaps running it through a condensor or past the aircon?

Thats cheap...FST4RD wrote:Don't complain until your paying $2.21 a liter for BP 98 octaine!
You guys are doing alright!
95 oct. was 13,98SEK yesterday... (2,72 NZD)
E85 though, is quite ok. Under 10SEK.
And our Libero is converted with 240cc injectors and some (8° ?) more timing... takes about 0,85-0,90 liter/10km, without even trying to "ecodrive".

I recently purchased a 2007 BF MkII Ford Falcon wagon on factory dedicated LPG (no dual fuel) & running costs (highway cycle) are around AU$6 / 100km. However, this doubles when towing.
With the money I save, I can spend more on Starions :D

Yeah with 6 on your list Pete you only need one more for every day of the week.
But then the donor car is on limited time and you cannot drive it.
Then there's the wrecked autocross car.
I guess there's more space for more Starions after all.
Pics of your man cave (in the man cave thread of course) - it sounds massive!
