Thought you guys may be amused by a few things I saw while overseas avoiding Deeks.

Had lunch in a restaurant near Laoshan mountain. This setup is for the ceiling fans in the outdoor dining area

I love these trucks. Note the family inside :)

Baby seat, China style.

Can you notice anything odd in this pic? It's outside a new shopping centre they are finishing up.

I cracked up when I noticed it. Very Chinese way of doing things.

Look harder. When you notice it, you'll wonder why you didn't see it sooner.

Is that tree blocking the way in?

Baby seat stuff is crazy, while in Turkey I saw not one baby seat or even children secured in seats and they drive like nutters.

So what are we looking at Al in the photo of the buildings? It's pretty obvious what you were thinking with the pic of the names.
I'm surprised you haven't come up with a whole heap more. Not that you need to leave Melbourne to do that: For example there's a Chinese restaurant in Heathmont called the "Shat Inn".

Okay, had another look at the building pic, are their trees considered endangered and they're not allowed to remove them? Perhaps they realise that with the driving skills & great eyesight that many Chinese have (not) that the tree will inadvertently be removed anyway....

China is good at stuff like that. Tree in the way....just put a garden bed around it alnd the cars will avoid it.

Years ago I was travelling along a new freeway that was built near Tianjin and was wondering why all the traffic was slowing and changing lanes ahead. Not a broken down car but a power pole in the third lane of the 4 lane freeway. It had yellow stripes on it so people wouldn't run into it....funny stuff.

Yep, I have a couple people who will be driving it while I'm gone. My dad and a friend who I know won't crash it, haha.
