Night call to vet

[OLD FART]

A dog lover had a female in heat agreed to look after the neighbours male dog while they were on holidays.She had a large property and believed that she would be able to keep them separated.
As she was drifting off to sleep she heard awful howling and moaning sounds and rushed downstairs to find them locked together,in obvious pain and unable to disengage as this can happen when mating.
She was unable to separate them so in desperation phoned the local vet who wasn't happy to receive the call after hours.
When she explained the problem he told her to hang up and put the phone close to the dogs and he would call back straight away as the noise will cause the male to lose his erection and they would be able to withdraw.Do you think that will work she asked ?
The vet replied well it just worked on me.
