Are you sure all the rollers are still in place?

I've had a faulty one jump out and it would still idle & have good compression, however when the boost came it just didn't want to go and started to stutter/ shake

How about bolting the cas to the back of the head like a DOHC? You'd have to slot the cam and maybe weld some bracket to bolt it on.. the single cam spins the same direction as the dual cam.. and at the same speed. I've seen this done to the 2.6 in the US so should work with the sohc. then again... ...

What purpose do they serve with the widey wheels? (they are still in boxes)

Actually they are there to prevent you from pushing the studs out...

But on most hubs the studs are rusted stuck in place so you don't have to worry about accidentally pushing them out.

Thought I'd update this. The samples never arrived and the emails gone quiet. Emailed a few other companies but they said they can't do it. One was very helpful and suggested some similar ones. May buy some lengths as its pretty cheap. I need something as I reckon its leaking water down, eve...

Very nice.

How is the gearbox holding up with that kind of torque?

Well I have both a narrowbody from 83 and a widebody from 88

But the widey has larger diameter rear discs

The brake calipers are the same, but the bracket to bolt it to the hub has a different offset.

May I suggest you wrap that silicone hose with something to shield it from heat radiation?
Or just replace it every 2 years..

I myself used some heater duct tape ( adhesive aluminium tape) that seems to be doing it's job just fine.

Well maybe i'll beat you to it because this has been on my list for some time.

I was thinking of using a couple of modified (re drilled to 5x 114,3) bmw 540 discs and either brembo's or the 3000gt calipers that i already have..

I prefer the brembo's because of the wider choice in pads.

I've done some measurements on my widey with the 7J et 18 wheels at the fronts. (unfortunatly the SHP wheels are really hard to find ) anyway near the hub I've got 50mm between the rim & brake disc and this gap increases to about 55 mm at the outside of the disc I don't know how much you need fo...

with google I found these dimensions for a stock 5bolt front disk Diameter: 276mm Height: 67mm Thickness New: 24mm / Minimum: 23mm so you'd have 67 -24 = 43 mm between the disk and the wheel mating surface. the problem is that starion wheels don't have alot of space for big calipers if you look at t...

There may not be a clearance issue if you would be using a rotor with the same offset as a stock widebody rotor.. Don't forget.. the rotors go over the hub on the 5 bolt widey The offset of the rotor is considerable. The stock evo rotor is almost none, so that is why the calipers touch the wheels wi...

As far as I'm aware, there is no such thing as an open 6 bolt centre.. All the 6 bolts were lsd's Well if you have a Euro import.. then you can have a open 6 bolt as most are open diffs here. Both of my wideys started with a open diff Had to import a LSD one from the UK so the DOHC conversion could...

Have you tried a local mitsu dealer? Here in The Netherlands I can still order most "wear" parts new. You just need to find one that still has the old system (CAPS or maybe even microfiches) and willing to look up the correct part number. If your able to find the part number yourself you c...
