what ECU are you running? the factory ECU wont fun the pump until it knows the engine is cranking - so when you turn the ignition on and the engine not yet running the pump will not be running (it may run for a second or two initially to prime). Once the ECU knows the starter is being triggered and ...

My understanding is: The duty is huge You must either have genuinely owned & driven it over there for a min of 12 months, or It must be a model/variant not available here It must be original/stock standard If no one else has imported the same model, you have to bring a couple in as crash testin...

yeah but unless you want to get a specific LHD car, I would say all European imported cars bound for Australia would be from the UK. I've seen a handful of Mercedes and Volvos in Australia which have been brought over from the UK as personal imports, but unsure if any have been brought over as an al...

shipping costs are higher, and be careful regarding corrosion - they use salt on their roads over winter and cars can start rusting out very early. I've seen 5 year old UK cars with rust holes through the guards already.

the pumping and getting better sounds like there's air in the system somewhere. I would be giving the brakes a bleed and a flush with new fluid anyways and checking if it happens again. Does the car still have ABS?

I think blowing 7 gaskets in 6 months is a good sign not to run 30psi.. Running 30psi could lead to more detonation and therefore will actually net you less power than a lower boost level. I wouldn't think the SOHC 8V head would keep up too well with the flow either. If I were you I would be using a...

Hey Zac I have a spare DASH long block missing manifolds which I may separate the head from. Have not had it running, was going to wait until I had my built DASH engine running properly to make sure I didn't need any parts before selling it off.

Yeah I had an 850 T5 previously and loved it also. You can get the 850 R here in Australia and NZ but they are pretty rare and of course quite expensive. The T5 is 95% of the fun for 30% of the cost.

Getting a little high at 230,000kms (though seems to be about the average for a car that age) but the motors and transmissions are good for it. It has an interesting history originally being sold new in Singapore then made its way to New Zealand and then personally imported to Australia a few years ...
