Check all of your wires around the dizzy, i had basically the same problem and after a careful look around the engine bay it turned out to be a broken wire near one of the plugs that leads to the dizzy. heat and age got to it. solder and heat shrink fixed it.

i regularly maintain my car, its never missed a oil or water check or even tyre air check! all hoses were new !!! thats why i was surprised at it splitting and just wated to see if there was better stuff out there. compressor nice to know who it used to be with lolz its got a tc05 on it now, i got it running 15 pound boost and it popped on me, cracked all the pistons and rings and had 2 pistons collapse on me :o so had to get a rebuild, yea i knew that it had one but apparently it had one then blew head gasket...
