Hehe that's my car :D Seeing as I'm already posting off topic here I might as well give you guys an update on the Cordia DASH conversion. The engine has been pulled out and tidyed up a little, but is still waiting on having the timing belt replaced as I can't get the damn flex plate off. The wiring ...

My Cordia has no power steering and it is fine to drive when your moving over about 5kmh or so but damn near impossible to do nice smooth lock to lock parallel parking, you pretty much have to stop halfway and swing the wheel right around then keep going and repeat. It's a bastard. I'm going to be p...

This seems odd to me, because from my experience a car battery in a Starion/Cordia with nice stiff suspension would have to endure at least the same amount of vibrations that a boat which only really vibrates when it uses its engine to get in and out of its berth or when the sea is quite choppy, oth...

Yeah theres the problem, you need to go during a busy time, when there are 20 or so cars backed up, Saturday afternoon is when I usually take mine in. Have you tried having a look at your doors to see what is causing the play in the hinges? The panel beater will probably be able to fix it up for you...

If it turns out that this can't be fixed for whatever reason then I suggest you go to a new wof testing station. I recommend going to a VTNZ on a really busy day. You wouldn't beleive the stuff I have gotten away with there because they want to get your car through as fast as possible and contrary t...

Just had a look at my DASH engine and the pipe above the second port is the vac source for the brake booster. I'm 99% sure the port circled in red in your picutre is the EGR inlet port, it even has black soot in it. Compare it to the coolant passage on the far left which is brown. If this wasn't the...

Another good trick I have for another bastard of a car that I drive, this time a 93 Mitsubishi Galant that automatically locks the doors whenever it bloody well feels like it (ECU problem this time, maybe leaking capacitors), is to hide one of those magnetic key holders up in the engine bay. Mine is...
