mitsu turbos may be 'old' but the numbers they put up are no less impressive than todays. I'd put an evoIII 16G up against any garret GT t28 sized turbo. 16 has taken 3300 pound DSM street cars to 12.2s and datalogged ~44 lbs/min flow.... thats pretty impressive for a 2.0L bone stock motor using a '...

the hawk has fuel and ignition. Most u.s. guys learn to tune their own standalones Lizz on starquestclub 'rough tuned' his hawk. Ran 12.4s using a t3/4 @ 15psi only... lots more left in that street car. Fuel only mpi will rid you of expensive mitsu injectors and poor distribution. Makes quite a sign...

hawk standalone

anybody here run one on their staz ? why not ? seems like wolf and microtech are your popular choices... better value, features, reputation ? It was recommended to a few u.s. guys by one of this forum members, and they're having excellent results with the hawk ecu. Any comments ? What about Link, St...

cool, well you guys know way more than this sorta stuff than I'd ever care to know. Mustang dynos sound similiar then. I spend more time looking at end results. Low buget shops are turning out A LOT of very fast daily driven, STOCK longblock 4 cylinder cars... I'm talking about 550+ whp 2.0L street ...

u.s. dynos read ~15% higher than aus ? hmmmm... do they really ? I know the common 'mustang dyno' reads about that much lower than the ever popular dynojet... is that what type aus guys use ? You can pretty much tell from what turbo compressor you're running at a given boost what kinda power you wil...

very nice manifold. We use that same sorta materials to make 'em around here also. I like to keep the runners as short as possible with minimal bends. We normally run internal wastegated t3/4 for 350-370whp 1.8 to 2.0L. They're inexpensive and have a broad torque band. t04b/S-trim/0.48/std t3 turbin...

so you sucessfully run vr4 cast pistons in the sohc motor ? Interesting. Curious about compression also, but I'd guess performance is similiar if starion vr4 has done it 3 times, or...... I remember an aussie site with a pretty nice 2.6 that ran inexpensive cast Mahle pistons. Also, didn't Gav run c...

heheh... sounds like quite a character but would he tell _you_ that WANTSOM ? ....seems u two go back a ways. From what is posted, it appears he/they don't cater to/or interested in our type of customer. Neither does he have the time so who would want to carry their car to him to sit.... and wait......

I find that the starion housings are too tall above the spring perch... for the lowering job I like at least. Drop it 2" and it will spend alot of time riding on even the trimmed bumpstops. U can stiffen up your adjustables sure, but what does that do to your ride? I'm gonna run kyb agx adjusta...

well seeing as u know him personally, couldn't u milk him for some advice on how to set up a 300whp street starion motor ?
His recipee should be interesting, especially on cam/springs/head porting/clutch. I would think he grew accustomed to removing bottlenecks.

HK$$$$$ sux... hate that dam company for all its overpriced useless garbage they offer, especially way back in the day. $200usd FCD when $5 electronics do the same thing. In the west, we put an adjustable boost compensating regulator downstream of the oe one to kick up the fuel pressure, giving cons...

my old coil was arcing to terminals. A new msd coil cured it.
I've 'read' one or two cases where even these new msd coils failed.

evo3 16g is on par with the best flowing garret T3s. Great turbo! Some users have recorded 40-44 lbs/min flow on dataloggers. Quickest way to get the evo3 on a starion is to have a turbo builder machine out the staz turbine housing to accept the 16g center. Clock the compressor to suit and rig the w...
