I really think you have a either chipped the star gears or chipped crown wheel & pinion. It's a pain but drain the oil... any metal in it? if yes then remove the back cover plate & have a look inside. :beer

I'll have to check that in the morning :) Yes running standard boost... Another question I have is if the Starion vac advance is also a boost retard? If so, would this mean there's no need for a 1-way valve in the vac advance vacuum line? A photo of a working setup would be great if anyone has some...

Were you using new ones? I think after 30odd years the rubber is starting to deteriorate & perish. Think you will have to go MPI & Fixed dizzy & let the ECU control advance. OH BTW I have on here as well only problem is its attached to the rest of Dizzy. You already know the price :beer

What head are you using? Personally I would stay SOHC 2.4L

I know of a certain engine (2L) making close to 400HP at the wheels with 600ft lbs ATW... :beer

That pic is a rear CAS engine, no you can't change it from front to back without welding & doing some machining. If it was me I would get the Front CAS engine. :beer
