I have never seen a small port 6 bolt head, i have been through 6 NT heads and not one of them had small oval ports, all had the large rectangular ports as found on VR4, ( and i beleive up 'till evo 3) Is it possibly the Hyundai sourced heads that have the revised ports? I'm very interested in this ...

4g63 dohc N/T and turbo are very similar, main differences being pistons/rods, only 1 of the cams is different (can't remnember which), and the turbo block has oil squirters installed, whereas N/T only has the untapped bosses for the squirters. Ports are the same size across N/T and turbo heads, oil...

something to watch with swapping starion front struts into a lancer crossmember is that the lancer struts sit more upright than the starion, and even if you use starion struts , bottom arms and stering knuckles you will have positive camber at std ride height, as you lower it becomes less of an issu...

Note also that the complete starion strut will bolt into it as long as teh top caps are swapped, may also need to swap bottom arms, if the lancer has press in ball joints.

looks good mate, only thing i would say is that make sure you have a good join on the steel pipe to the rubber hose, like a flare or something, i had a similar setup with a flared alloy pipe, and the bastard hose blew off at 4000rpm. Not a clever moment that.... What water pump are you using, fwd or...

Yeh i have a set of sigma struts, all worked out with vr4 brakes and adaptor plates, however on my ex lancer the sigma struts give a slight positive static camber, i would really like to acheive about 1.5 neg, to do this i need to make up new top hats and possible longer bottom arms to, so in the me...

Front suspension show and tell

Hi all i'm after a bit of feed back re what sort of front suspension you guys are running, i've managed to get hold of a set of starion struts to go in the front of my ex lancer rally car , and am hoping to get an idea on what shock inserts people have had success with, as well as what sort of sprin...

Have a read of this article, it explains things fairly well. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/balance-shafts.html this shows the elimantion kit install in a twincam motor, sohc is fairly much the same AKAIK. Ididn't use a kit for mine, i simply cut the oil pump shaft, rotated the other shaft bearings in the...

So in saying that sigma auto blocks are wide, one would assume that they are the same is a starion block? yes no maybe?

having great difficulty finding a starion block to build a decent motor on top of, if auto sigma is the same then it may be a easier proposition..
cheers

hmm ,i've actually read some interesting material on the oil squirters, i know of a few engine builders that remove them when building a strong motor as they are allegedly prone to clogging and starving the main caps of oil , causing 'crankwalk'. i don't know if there is truth to it all but the anec...
