The pulley on the crankshaft is not a reliable component on many Mitsubishi engines. It can fall to pieces and cause severe damage. This one is not so inclined to do so. It is also slightly lighter, but that will not make so much difference this close to the center of the rotation. The bling bling i...

I have been working hard on my other project the BMW V12 twin turbo, but I have not forgotten about this little star! Some new engine parts: Valves, new and old, side by side: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/Mitsubishi_Starion/engine/renovering/topplock/svampodling2.jpg http://i61...

The main reason for the "run in" process is to get the piston rings to set correctly. This is for optimal sealing against the cylinder wall for maximum compression and minimal blow by. There are many theories about how to do this best, the procedure differs a little depending on whether it...

Some Starions actually run better without the air flow meter. These engines are individuals and they seem to react slightly different on the same modifications. If the ECU does not get the air flow signal it is still able to send signals to the ignition and injectors from the other sensors, that is;...

Re: Does young equal dumb?

So on the whole are young people better or worse in their vehicles these days? I would say worse! I live on the other side of the planet, but I have noticed that there is more aggressive competitiveness amongst the youngsters now days. When I was younger there were races of course, but not in place...

An other problem is that the heat expansion makes the flange thicker, which put enormous pressure on the bolts, there is a cheap fix for this also. I can get back to that if someone is interested. No one had the time to response on this so I will just be babbling on :) The problem with the heat exp...

Actually, let me re-phrase that - we need no excuse to cut up a Volvo... :D Hehe, I could not agree more :D But I thought that Volvos were considered as very good cars abroad, solid and safe :-) Good work my Europian friend :) :) I know what you mean when you say snow, salt and old jap car :) , tha...

Well I did not figure out this my self, so I am not a genius, probably more a copy cat :D Why the manufacturers not do this is because of production costs is always kept to a minimum. It is simpler and cheaper to make the flange in one piece, and is is good enough for the original application. On a ...

In this case and many others similar, -YES!

Can you please give me one reason why it should not be? What do you reckon the problem would be?

I also did some minor modifications on the EVO-manifold. All sharp edges and corners are grinded down. This to prevent heat spots that can cause cracks. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/Mitsubishi_Starion/engine/vassakanter.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/Galant_turbo/Mit...

500 hp from that motor.. not possible :x (hint: that means hurry up with it and prove me wrong :D) 500Hp is actually not at all a problem, are you just trying to make me work faster :D The flow capacity in the cylinder head is better than an EVO-engine. Bearing surfaces are bigger, crankshaft stron...
